Have an upcoming trip next month, just over 2 weeks, going from ZHR to Wengen to Zermatt to Luzern to St. Moritz and then back to Zurich the night before return flight (to the US).
In all, I see 6 days of travel on the SBB. Still planing so there may end up being more days. But most of those trips are over 3 hours and cost around 80-120 CHF, 2nd class full fare.
In addition, I'm considering 3 expensive day trips, weather permitting of course, for Jungfraujoch, Gornergrat and Pilatus. Of course there are different discount considerations between the Pass and the HFC.
Also plan to ride the Bernina Express and cable cars near St. Moritz but those are suppose to be covered by the Engadin Card, though I may ride the Bernina Express all the way to Tirano and pay the difference.
The 15-day Swiss Travel Pass won't work because I'll need the trains for a span of 17 days since I will be leaving ZHR via train and returning to it via train.
The 8-day Flex pass could work but at 445 CHF, it's already up there. Just including the 150 CHF for Jungfraujoch alone would make it cost more than the HFC plus all the train trips and the 3 big day trips.
So it seems HFC would be an easy choice, especially if I want to ride cable cars in the Bernese Oberland, maybe take boat trips around Interlaken, etc.
Is there some other consideration I may be overlooking?
